I have lived in Finland since 2011 and its beautiful and pristine nature has kept me here ever since! There are lots of places to visit in Lapland, however there are plenty of forests and beautiful places also in the capital city and its surroundings. Finland is one of the best countries to live in if you are a nature lover, like me. Nature is all around!

Malla Strict Nature Reserve is located near Kilpisjärvi, which belongs to Enontekiö municipality of Finnish Lapland. The nature around Malla can be admired only from a marked hiking trail, that starts from a parking area near Kilpisjärvi and continues until Three Nations' Border Point, where the borders of Finland, Norway and Sweden meet. This trail is part of the 800 km Arctic Trail (Kalottireitti or Nordkalottleden Trail).

The Saimaa Ringed Seal is one of the rarest seals in the world, and together with the Baikal seal, is one of the very few seals that actually live exclusively in freshwater. The Saimaa seal lives only in Lake Saimaa, in Finland, and there are around 400 Saimaa seals left, which is why they are one of the most endangered seals in the world.
